On-line analytics and sensor technology are apart from the micro-process engineering components a very important component of micro-process engineering plants. To use all advantages of micro process engineering the employment of suitable analytic devices, particularly on-line analytics and sensor technology, is essential. Thus a very high degree of automation is attainable, which results in further reduction of development times in the process development and even makes self-optimizing systems possible.

Analytical devices and sensor technology must be adapted on the small flow desired. The spectrum of the sensor technology ranges from simple systems for the determination of pressure, temperature and flow over pH probes to complex analytics methods, such as FT-NIR in special flow measuring cells.
